Her family discovered her body on September 22 in a desert area near Yucaipa, California. She had been missing since September 14, when she was last seen in Lake Elsinore.
Family members believe she was trying to escape from her boyfriend, who has a history of domestic violence. They said he threatened them before. Initially, they thought she was just away for the day, but when they learned she was still missing, they alerted the authorities.
