Does Arondir Die in Rings of Power?
Arondir is a character in The Rings of Power who isn’t from the original Tolkien books, so we can’t look to the books for clues about his fate. Currently, we hope he survives the recent attack since we don’t see him die on screen. As one of the main characters, it would be expected for him to have a bigger farewell moment.
The actor who played Arondir hasn’t revealed much about whether his character lives or dies. He did mention that the upcoming season finale, airing on October 3, will be very interesting, hinting at an exciting storyline.
Who Plays Arondir in Rings of Power?
Arondir is played by Ismael Enrique Cruz Córdova, a Puerto Rican actor born on April 7, 1987. He gained fame for his role as Mando on Sesame Street. Cruz has appeared in several other shows and movies, including The Good Wife, Ray Donovan, and Mary Queen of Scots.
He also had a part in the Mandalorian episode "Chapter 6: The Prisoner." In The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, he portrays the elf Arondir, a role he began in September 2022 on Amazon Prime.
Who is Arondir in Rings of Power?
Arondir is a main character in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. He is a Silvan Elf from the sunken land of Beleriand and serves as a soldier watching over the Men of the Southlands. Portrayed by Ismael Cruz Córdova, Arondir first appears in "A Shadow of the Past."
Before the war, he was a grower but became a soldier to fight against the evil Morgoth. Arondir develops a close bond with Bronwyn, a local healer, but struggles to express his feelings for her. When danger arises, he investigates the destruction of a nearby village and is captured by Orcs.
He endures harsh conditions while planning an escape with fellow prisoners but faces tragedy and loss during their fight against the Orcs. Arondir's character is marked by his striking appearance, typical Elf features, and distinctive armor, which reflects his heritage. He wears a ring inscribed with "May Your Arrows Sing" in Sindarin.
Rings of Power
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is an American fantasy TV series created by J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay for Amazon Prime Video. It is based on J.R.R. Tolkien's writings about Middle-earth, mainly from the appendices of The Lord of the Rings, and is set thousands of years before the events of the original novel during the Second Age.
Amazon bought the rights to create the show in 2017, committing to a five-season production with a budget of at least $1 billion, making it the most expensive TV series ever made. The series features a large international cast and was filmed in New Zealand for its first season and later in the UK for its second season.
The Rings of Power premiered on September 1, 2022, and became the most-watched original series on Prime Video. It received positive reviews for its visuals. The second season is set to be released from August to October 2024.
Rings of Power Plot
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set thousands of years before The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. The series explores the major events of Middle-earth's Second Age during a time of relative peace.
Key plot points include the forging of the Rings of Power, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the fall of the island kingdom of Númenor, and the formation of the last alliance between Elves and Men. While these events span thousands of years in Tolkien's stories, they are condensed in the series to fit the storytelling format.
