A 19-year-old woman from Crown Point, Grace C. McBride, was killed in a crash on Saturday when her car was hit by a semi-truck while she was turning in Cedar Creek Township. What Happened to Grace McBride?
Around 11:45 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of West 181st Avenue and Harrison Street for a crash. The investigation showed that Grace McBride was driving north on Harrison and was trying to turn west onto 181st Avenue when a semi-truck, heading east, hit her car.
Two passengers in the back seat, aged 14 and 15, were seriously injured and flown to hospitals in Chicago. The 67-year-old driver of the semi was not hurt. The Lake County Sheriff’s Department Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the cause of the accident.
