There’s no official confirmation yet, but Season 5’s logline suggests Judd, played by Jim Parrack, will resign from the 126 squad to care for his son Wyatt, who was recently paralyzed in an accident.
In the Season 4 finale, Judd decided to retire to support Wyatt, but showrunner Tim Minear hinted that Judd’s departure may not be permanent. In 9-1-1: Lone Star season 4, Judd Ryder, a firefighter, faced a life-changing event when his son Wyatt had a serious biking accident, leaving him unable to walk. This tragedy led Judd to retire from the 126 firehouse to become Wyatt's full-time caregiver.
His decision highlighted his love and guilt for missing much of Wyatt's earlier life. The accident also ended Judd's feud with Tommy, his captain, bringing them closer. 911 Lone Star
9-1-1: Lone Star is a TV show about first responders in Austin, Texas. It was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear as a spin-off of the show 9-1-1. It first aired on Fox in January 2020. The show focuses on the personal and professional lives of firefighters, paramedics, and police officers.
The fourth season started in January 2023, and in May 2023, it was renewed for a fifth and final season. Due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, the last season’s premiere was delayed to September 23, 2024, marking the series' conclusion.
