Yes, Sony has confirmed the PS5 Pro, revealing it during a short presentation on September 10, 2024. The presentation was under ten minutes, but we learned important details like what the console looks like, its release date, pre-order date, price, and some key upgrades.
The PS5 Pro will have three major improvements: a bigger GPU (for better graphics), advanced ray tracing (making lighting and shadows look more realistic), and Sony’s new AI-powered upscaling technology called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), which will make games look sharper and more lifelike than before.
Does Ps5 Pro Have Disc Drive?
The new PS5 Pro has several improvements over the original version, like a GPU that's up to 45% faster, AI-based upscaling, better ray tracing, and a 2TB SSD. However, to play games, you'll need to buy them from the PlayStation Store unless you get an extra accessory.
The PS5 Pro doesn't have a disc drive, so if you own physical game discs, you'll need to buy the official PS5 Disc Drive. This attachment costs $80 and sold out quickly when the PS5 Pro was first announced, but it’s now available again at Best Buy as of September 19.
PS5 Pro Release Date
The PlayStation 5 Pro will be launched on November 7, 2024. Pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 Pro will start on September 26, 2024. Which stores offer it will depend on the country at first, just like when the original PlayStation 5 was released. More stores will start selling it on October 10, 2024.

Starting on September 26, 2024, people in countries with PlayStation Direct can pre-order the PS5 Pro through its usual queues and restocks. If you had trouble getting a PS5 before, you probably already know how PlayStation Direct works. You might even see some retailers sell out before the official release again.
The full list of pre-order locations for the PS5 Pro will be shared soon. In the US and UK, expect retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, GAME, and Smiths to have stock available. Some of these already have their product pages ready for launch day.

PlayStation has confirmed the release of the PS5 Pro. It will be available on November 7, priced at $699.99. This is more expensive than the original PS5, which launched in November 2020 for $499, or $399 for the digital-only version. Preorders start on September 26.
Mark Cerny, the PS5’s lead designer, revealed the new console during a PlayStation event. The PS5 Pro will have better graphics with a larger GPU, improved ray tracing for more realistic lighting, and AI-driven upscaling for sharper images.
