Pete Edochie started his career in radio broadcasting in 1967 at the age of 20 as a junior programs assistant. He worked hard and eventually became the director of programs, sometimes serving as Deputy Managing Director and even acting as Managing Director. He left Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) because the government began to politicize the FM station, which led to the entire management, including him, being removed.
Pete Edochie was set to become the next Managing Director but had to leave that position to join the movie industry.
