Qualification Details

News Reader (Sambalpuri)

i) Degree from a recognized university
ii) Proficiency in Sambalpuri
iii) Camera-friendly face and voice suited for broadcasting
iv) Correct pronunciation, accent, and modulation
v) Knowledge of current regional, Indian, and foreign affairs
vi) Familiarity with prominent personalities in the region, India, and abroad

News Reader (Santhali)

i) Degree from a recognized university
ii) Proficiency in Santhali
iii) Camera-friendly face and voice suited for broadcasting
iv) Correct pronunciation, accent, and modulation
v) Knowledge of current regional, Indian, and foreign affairs
vi) Familiarity with prominent personalities in the region, India, and abroad

News Reader (Desia)

i) Degree from a recognized university
ii) Proficiency in Desia
iii) Camera-friendly face and voice suited for broadcasting
iv) Correct pronunciation, accent, and modulation
v) Knowledge of current regional, Indian, and foreign affairs
vi) Familiarity with prominent personalities in the region, India, and abroad

Copy Editor (Sambalpuri)

i) Degree from a recognized university
ii) Degree or diploma in Journalism or Mass Communications from a recognized university
iii) Proficiency in Sambalpuri

Copy Editor (Santhali)

i) Degree from a recognized university
ii) Degree or diploma in Journalism or Mass Communications from a recognized university
iii) Proficiency in Santhali

Copy Editor (Desia)

i) Degree from a recognized university
ii) Degree or diploma in Journalism or Mass Communications from a recognized university
iii) Proficiency in Desia

Video Editor

i) 10+2 from a recognized board
ii) Degree or diploma in Film and Video Editing from a recognized university
iii) Two years of relevant experience

Age Limit

• News Reader - 21-40 years
• Copy Editor, Video Editor - 21-50 years

Important Terms and conditions

• The empanelment process is being conducted to identify suitable candidates who may be engaged purely on a casual basis for performing specific assignments in RNU DDK Bhubaneswar.
• The persons selected through empanelment process shall have no claim, either implicit or explicit, for absorption or regularization in RNU DDK Bhubaneswar/Prasar Bharati. Also, no claim of pensionary benefit on account of casual empanelment shall be admissible in RNU DDK Bhubaneswar/Prasar Bharati.
• The empanelment shall remain valid for a period of two years, commencing from the date of issuance of the Doordarshan News order, as approved by the Director General, DD News, listing the names of selected candidates in various categories of casual assignees. Upon expiry, the empanelment will stand dissolved unless extended by the Director General, DD News.
• There is no application fee for applying for any of the casual assignee positions.
• For determining the age, experience, and education criteria, relevant certificates shall be considered up to and including the date of issuance of this notification.

Selection Procedure

• Selection through the empanelment process does not guarantee assignments from RNU DDK Bhubaneswar. Assignments will be provided to empanelled candidates by RNU DDK Bhubaneswar on an ‘as and when required’ basis. Candidates cannot demand assignments as a right and will have no claim to receiving assignments from RNU DDK Bhubaneswar/Prasar Bharati.
• RNU, DDK Bhubaneswar/Prasar Bharati reserves the right to conduct any skill tests (written, interview, computer-based test, test through video conferencing, audition, screen test, etc.) in any format—such as multiple choice or descriptive for written exams, group discussion or one-on-one interviews, voice modulation tests, editing software proficiency, etc.—to assess the skills, suitability, and personality of the shortlisted candidates.
• No TA/DA will be paid to the shortlisted candidates who will be called for the skill tests/audition/interview.

How to Apply?

• Applicants are required to submit self-attested photocopies of all relevant documents demonstrating their compliance with age, experience, education and other criteria.
• Applications submitted without the necessary self-attested documents will be summarily rejected, and no further correspondence will be entertained regarding incomplete applications.
• Candidates who are eligible and willing to adhere to the terms and conditions outlined above may submit their applications in the prescribed format along with self-attested photocopies of all necessary documents, including certificates of educational qualifications, proof of age, experience certificates, and any other relevant documents.
• Applications must be sent by either Speed Post or email.
• Application along with all required self attested documents must be kept in one single envelope and sent to : Head, Regional News Unit (RNU), Doordarshan Kendra, Post- Sainik School, Bhubaneswar, PIN 751005
• Applications submitted via Speed Post or email must reach RNU, DDK Bhubaneswar, by 20th November, 2024. Applications submitted by hand, courier, or any means other than Speed Post and email will not be accepted. Please note that RNU is not responsible for any postal delays.
