What Does the Star on Snapchat Mean?

There is something called a Black star badge on Snapchat. To add the Snapchat+ black star badge next to your display name, do the following,

1. Go to your Profile.
2. Tap your Snapchat+ membership card at the top of the screen.
3. Turn on the ‘Snapchat+ Badge’ by switching the toggle.

This will show the badge next to your name to let your friends know you're a Snapchat+ subscriber.

Snapchat Star

There is another thing called Snap Stars. Those are public figures or creators who share fun and interesting content on Snapchat. Yes, they show their followers unique views on different topics like art, news, beauty, gaming, and music. Snap Stars can have their content highlighted on Snapchat and are marked with a star icon.

Snapchat does not charge any money for verification, and no one else can charge for it either. No outside companies can influence who becomes a Snap Star.

Snap Star Eligibility

To become a Snap Star, you need to consider certain things,

1. Account Engagement: You need to have a big, active audience. Sometimes, if you're famous outside of Snapchat, you can still get this even if your audience is smaller.

2. Public Stories: You should be posting stories for everyone to see regularly.

3. Authenticity: Your account must be for a real person, and it must be their official account. General interest accounts can’t be Snap Stars.

4. Popularity and Relevance: Your account is popular, gets searched for a lot, or is important to culture.

5. Content Quality: Your posts should be original, safe, and follow Snapchat's rules.

Having a big account doesn’t guarantee you’ll become a Snap Star. Being a Snap Star doesn’t change Snapchat's rules or give you any special rights.
