Why is Lonzo Ball Not Playing?
Lonzo Ball did not play because he had a knee injury. He talked about his long recovery after having three surgeries on his left knee, including a rare procedure in March 2023. He joked that the recovery process felt long but went by faster than he expected. After being told he'd need 18 more months to recover after the third surgery, he admitted it sounded overwhelming at first, but now he's just happy it's behind him.
On Wednesday, Ball said he felt "full of joy" to be getting ready to play again, but acknowledged he won’t be the same player he once was. He said his body has changed, but he still believes he can be effective on the court, which is why he's determined to keep playing.
