When is Circus Circus Las Vegas Opened?
Circus Circus Las Vegas opened on October 18, 1968. Originally, it was launched as a casino without a hotel, making it the first family-oriented casino in Las Vegas. The first floor featured a casino, while the second floor had carnival games for children. Despite facing financial challenges in its early years, the property thrived after a 15-story hotel tower was added in 1972.

Owned by Phil Ruffin, it features the largest permanent circus in the world, with circus acts and carnival games at the Carnival Midway. After some financial struggles, a 15-story hotel tower was added in 1972, and the casino was leased to new management in 1974, leading to its success. Over the years, several towers and facilities were added, increasing the room count and entertainment options. The property was sold to MGM Resorts in 2005 and then to Phil Ruffin in 2019, continuing to be a popular destination for families on the Strip.
