Circus Circus Las Vegas opened on October 18, 1968. Originally, it was launched as a casino without a hotel, making it the first family-oriented casino in Las Vegas. The first floor featured a casino, while the second floor had carnival games for children. Despite facing financial challenges in its early years, the property thrived after a 15-story hotel tower was added in 1972.

The property was sold to MGM Resorts in 2005 and then to Phil Ruffin in 2019, continuing to be a popular destination for families on the Strip.
