Jay Cutler is a retired American bodybuilder who was very successful in his sport. He won the prestigious Mr. Olympia title four times, in 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010, and holds the record for being the runner-up six times.

He also won the Arnold Classic competition three times in a row from 2002 to 2004. Cutler is famous for his rivalry with another bodybuilder, Ronnie Coleman. In 2021, he was honored by being inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame.

Jay Cutler Career

Jay Cutler was inspired to pursue bodybuilding by his personal trainer, Marcos Rodriguez. He entered his first competition, the 1992 Gold's Gym Worcester Bodybuilding Championships, and finished in second place.

He achieved his first overall win at the 1993 Iron Bodies Invitational and became well-known in the bodybuilding community. Cutler won the Arnold Classic three times in a row from 2002 to 2004 and finally claimed his first Mr. Olympia title in 2006 after placing second to Ronnie Coleman four times.

At the 2001 Mr. Olympia, Jay Cutler tested positive for banned diuretics but successfully sued to have his second-place finish restored. He won the Olympia title again in 2007 and became the third person to win it in non-consecutive years in 2009 after defeating Dexter Jackson.

Cutler made history as the only bodybuilder to regain the title after losing it, and he won his fourth Mr. Olympia title in 2010 by beating Phil Heath. He was the runner-up to Heath in 2011 and couldn't compete in 2012 due to a biceps injury, finishing sixth in the 2013 competition.

During his career, Jay Cutler has appeared on the covers of fitness magazines like Muscle and Fitness and Flex. Since he stopped competing in 2013, he has focused on his bodybuilding supplement business, Cutler Nutrition, and other social media ventures, and he was inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame in 2021.

He graduated from Quinsigamond Community College in 1993 with a degree in criminal justice, planning to become a corrections officer in a maximum-security prison.
