For Season 12 of The Masked Singer, the show welcomes back the panelists Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Robin Thicke, all of whom have become beloved figures on the show.  This season also sees the return of Rita Ora, who fills in for Nicole Scherzinger for the second consecutive season.

As the host, Nick guides the audience through the performances, interviews the contestants, and interacts with the panelists. 

The Masked Singer Season 12 Format

Each episode of The Masked Singer features a group of celebrity contestants who perform in costumes to hide their identities. Before each performance, a "clue package" gives hints about who they might be, using a disguised voice and showing visual clues.

After the contestants perform, the audience and panelists vote for their favorite singer. The voting is split 50-50 between the audience and panelists, and the contestant with the fewest votes is eliminated and reveals their identity by taking off their mask. This continues until three contestants remain for the finale, where the winner is crowned and receives the "Golden Mask" trophy.

The show includes themed nights like "Miley Cyrus Night," Footloose night, and "Barbie Night." Special rounds, such as "smackdown" battles where two singers face off, may also be featured. Panelists can win the "Golden Ear" trophy if they make the most correct first guesses.
