Kyle Pitts first went to Abington Senior High School in Pennsylvania, then transferred to Archbishop Wood Catholic High School in 2016. He played as a tight end and defensive end on the football team. Pitts also took part in the 2018 Under Armour All-America Game. He later committed to play college football at the University of Florida.
In 2018, Kyle Pitts played 11 games as a backup at Florida, finishing with 3 catches for 73 yards and a touchdown. In 2019, he became the starting tight end, playing all 13 games with 54 catches for 649 yards and 5 touchdowns, earning First-team All-SEC honors. In the shortened 2020 season, Pitts had 43 catches for 770 yards and 12 touchdowns in 8 games. He was named a unanimous All-American and won the John Mackey Award.
Kyle Pitts was picked 4th overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2021 NFL Draft, the highest for a tight end. In his rookie season, he caught his first touchdown against the New York Jets and set a Falcons record for the most receiving yards by a tight end in a game. Pitts also broke Tony Gonzalez's Falcons record for most receiving yards in a season by a tight end. He finished the year with 1,026 yards and was named to the Pro Bowl and All-Rookie Team.
In Week 3 of 2022, Kyle Pitts had 5 catches for 87 yards in a win over the Seahawks. He later suffered a knee injury and was ruled out for the season after surgery.
