Harris Faulkner began her career writing freelance articles for LA Weekly. She then interned at KCOP-TV in Los Angeles before becoming a reporter and anchor in Greenville, North Carolina. From 1992 to 2000, she worked as an evening anchor in Kansas City. After a brief stint in Minneapolis, she joined Fox News in 2005.

While working at KSTP, Harris Faulkner won four regional Emmy Awards, including Best Anchor for three consecutive years from 2002 to 2004.
